HEAD
COACH & OWNER, KAREN LAMOREAUX
Coach Karen, originally from Chicago, IL. is a graduate of the University
of Phoenix with a Bachelor degree in Health Administration. She has
been a learn-to swim instructor for nearly 20 years, serving as a
former YMCA instructor and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
(WSI). She also served the American Red Cross as a Health and Safety
Instructor, providing others with certifications in CPR, First Aid,
Disease Transmission, Lifeguarding and Emergency First Response.
She is certified as a Swim America Coach by the American Swim Coaches
Association (ASCA). The certification came after over 100 hours of
training and a written exam. Coach Karen is trained to coach all
ages, including infant survival starting at 6 months of age. Coach Karen is a mother to two children.
Coach Karen is a member of the American Swim Coaches Association,
a Certified Stroke Technician, and is working on completing her Level
II certification.
COACH TALIA SULLIVAN, Manager of Coaching Education and Compliance
Coach Talia has worked with Coach Karen for over three years. She is a full time student at the University of Central Arkansas, majoring in Public Relations. Talia has over seven years experience caring for children, working for various organizations and families around Central Arkansas. Coach Talia is a member of the American Swim Coaches Association, a Certified Stroke Technician, and is working on completing her Level II certification.
COACH DAVE SWEERE, INDEPENDENT COACH
Coach Dave was a member of the Maumelle Marlins Swim Team for eight years
and has served as assistant coach for two years. He currently holds all of
the 15-18 age group Marlin team records. He has also competed on the Hendrix
Aquakids Swim Team in Conway for the last six years. Dave has competed at the
Long Course and Short Course State Championships for the last five years. Coach
Dave is a certified in Lifeguarding, and CPR/First Aid. He is working toward
his Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level II certification.
COACH ANGEL PACHECO, INDEPENDENT COACH
Coach Angel is a registered Nurse and works in the Cardiology unit at UAMS. She worked at the Maumelle Community Center Pool for six years, her last 2 years serving as Head Lifeguard and Pool Manager. Coach Angel also worked for Maumelle Gymnastics and Cheer for over two years as a gymnastics instructor and cheer coach. She is working toward her Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level II certifications.
PAM ROSE, BILLING COORDINATOR
Pam is originally from Danville, PA and moved to Little Rock, AR over three years ago. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Masters in Health Administration. She worked in the health care industry for eight years first as an underwriter for liability policies for large healthcare systems, and later as a government financial reporter for Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Pam remembers taking swim lessons at Bucknell University during her youth. She is so grateful for those skills that are still so useful today. Pam married in 2002 and a mother of four.
Coach Kari Anne Servedio, Independent Coach
Coach Kari Anne is a student at the University of Central Arkansas majoring in Mass Communications, and serving as a news anchor at News 6. She has 9 years of competitive swim experience, competing at state and regional levels. Coach Kari Anne served as an assistant coach on the AquaKids swim team for 2 years and is a former state representative for the Arkansas Swimming Association. She has 4 years of experience in swim instruction and is a certified Lifeguard. Coach Kari Anne is working toward her Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level I certification.
Coach Dalton JansseN
Coach Dalton is currently pursing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Central Arkansas. He has 2 years of experience lifeguarding and instructing at the Maumelle Community Center as well as on a private basis. Coach Dalton swam competitively for 3 years on the Maumelle Marlins swim team and placed in the Meet of Champs each year. He is a certified lifeguard and is working toward his Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level I Certification.
Coach Chelsea Burnside
Coach Chelsea is a student at the University of Central Arkansas majoring Early Childhood Education. She served as a lifeguard and swim instructor for 3 years in Conway. She has 10 years of competitive swim experience with 4 years at state and regional levels. Chelsea is certified as a Lifeguard with CPR and First Aid, and is working toward her Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level I certification.
Coach HALEY Palanca
Coach Haley is a student at the University of Central Arkansas majoring in Radiography. She has over 5 years of experience caring for children. She served as a lifeguard and swim instructor for Maumelle parks and recreation for 4 years . She has 2 years of competitive swim experience with the Maumelle Marlins. Haley is certified as a Lifeguard with CPR and First Aid, and is working toward her Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level I certification.
Coach Lauren Freeman
Coach Lauren is a student at Hendrix College majoring in Physics and Secondary Education. She has been with Safety Before Skill Swim Skill since May 2011. She worked at an after school and summer program, with children ages 2-14, for two years. Coach Lauren is passionate about working with kids and volunteers at a special needs child care in her free time. Coach Lauren enjoys the outdoors and playing basketball and volleyball. She is working toward her Certified Stroke Technician and ASCA Level I certification. |
